Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
INITIATIVE FOR COVID-19 ERADICATION PREVENTION AND SENSITIZATION
In December 2019, a new virus was discovered in Wuhan, China.Within a couple of weeks, it's turned into a pandemic. Africa's first case was reported in Nigeria, the most populous country on the continent. Subsequently, the virus started claiming life's and having devastating effects on the economy.
Late 2020 marked the beginning of vaccine discoveries and approval. This hope of an end to the pandemic inspired the establishment of iCEPS (Initiative of Covid-19 Eradication, Prevention and Sensitization). Our main objective is to help with advocacy on vaccine equity, testing, treatment, research and cushioning the social economic effect of pandemics in the society. We also engage in other public health programs such as strengthening of healthcare systems,telemedicine services and palliative care.
